Showering = Painful AF

Sound odd? Not to people like me who suffer from hypersensitivity as a symptom of their chronic illness. Showering used to be such a relaxing and refreshing experience- whether its warming up on a cold morning, or rinsing off after working out. It was always something that made me feel better.

Now, its a good day when Im not brought to tears from the pain of the water against my skin. The “pressure” of the light spray coupled with the needle-like sensation shooting through my legs, I want to fall over as soon as I get in.

I went from taking as long of showers as possible, to racing through them as fast as my pain allows.

I’m thankful that I have a seat and a shower bar in my new shower, I really do not know what I would do without them. But aside from that, I have no clue how to make the experience less painful.

  1. Apparently you can get shower heads that spray a fine mist rather than droplets. I’ve seen fellow chronic pain bloggers talk about them occasionally. Maybe that might be something to consider? Spoons and love x
